Top of the Heap: Jessica from Garden & Gun

Next up: Jessica – the brains behind Southern on the Inside.  Now – it hasn’t been updated in a while.  No biggie, she’s been busy as a Senior Editor at Garden & Gun.  She’s one of the nicest folks I’ve met, and a heck of a writer.  Here we go…here is Jessica’s contribution to ‘Top of the Heap”:

“Clockwise from far left: The antique writing box my mother-in-law gave to me; South African mosquito repellent stick that is the ONLY thing that protects me from the winged vampires. I can’t find anywhere so I have to use it sparingly. I bought the Sly Fox garden ornament for my husband. He’s the classiest thing on our mantle. Beaded animals made by women in Cape Town. My collection of vintage etiquette books, some serious, most satirical. Cotton music box gifted to one grandmother from the other when my parents got married. 1980s Chouinard & Co carabineer put to good use by my father in younger days. Random scribbling books. Lucky frog prince. Background is a perfectly faded American flag.” – Jessica Mischner, 2012
