The Perfect Business Casual Shoe?

A good buddy of mine is about to start a new job where he is going to be working in a “business casual” environment.  He asked me: “What shoes should I get for work?”.  Great question…  While I think there are pros and cons of just about any option, this might be the perfect pair of business casual shoes:

These are the Dylan wingtips from Grenson.  To be honest, they go with everything except dark charcoal and black pants (who really wears black pants anymore?).  They look good with jeans, the natural sole gives it an updated look, and the pebbled leather keeps it sporty.

What do you think?  What would your advice be for the perfect pair of business casual shoes?

Yes! I love these. I have been looking into something similar but simplilar, like the Chaney from Martin Dingman that just went on sale

I think one of your favorites, the Oak Street Bootmakers natural beef roll penny loafers work with just about everyting business casual as well.

Have to agree w Robin, a penny or tassel loafer is much more perfect in the business casual setting. Your selection is nice, but not ideal. It would be something I wore once a week at most to spice things up.

Wingtips are way too busy and look like clown shoes to me. I feel that the most versatile shoes out there are Alden’s tassel moccasin or AE’s Grayson model.

Driving mocs with jeans or khakis and a button up is my nearly everyday wear to my business casual job.
Sometimes on Mondays I’ll dress it up with tassels and slacks with or without a blazer
