The KP MacLane Polo

KP MacLane is the Atlanta-based company headed by Katherine Petty MacLane and her husband Jared.  Not only do they have impeccable taste, but they are some of the nicest people you will ever meet.  Their aim is to bring USA made luxury goods to the masses.  First up: the KP MacLane polo shirt:

The polo shirt from KP MacLane is the definition of luxury.  I was blow away when I first tried it on.  The style is ‘refined retro’ – with it’s stitched collar and shorter un-banded sleeves.  What sets this shirt apart is the fabric.  It is extremely soft and very wearable.  It isn’t a pique, and it isn’t the new ‘technical’ fabric seen in pro shops – it is an extremely soft modal jersey and French cotton.  Wearing it is like sleeping in high thread-count sheets at a luxury resort.

What’s great about this shirt are the special touches.  First, there is no logo.  A bold move, but it works.  The fit is modern – not box, but not slim.  There is a bit of stretch, so it is perfect on the golf course.  Each shirt comes shipped in an embroidered laundry bag that is the perfect accessory for traveling.

They offer polo shirts for men and women in classic colors: ‘Parrot Pink’, ‘Deep Sea’ (above), ‘Putting Green’, ‘Tennis White’ and ‘Black.  While the shirt is an investment, it has a place in your closet.  Special occasions like an important round of golf, an engagement party, or a first date are made for this shirt.  Go ahead and set yourself apart.

$175 for a polo is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous when it’s from a company nobody has ever heard of. Also, Men need to be wearing sleeves for things like dates and engagement parties.

Have to agree with Taylor. Going to be very tough to bring these “to the masses” at $175 a pop…
