Summer Polo Roundup

Down South (and in most of the country) it’s hot.  Really hot.  While I’m usually an OCBD guy, when the mercury gets this high, you have to have a few polos to manage the heat – while still looking good.  Here are a few that work in just about any situation:

L-R from top left:

Peter Millar Signature Pique Polo: New to their offerings – complete with the crown logo.
Perlis Crawfish Polo: From NOLA – one of the most humid places on Earth.  These run a bit big, so order a size down.
LL Bean Signature Chambray Woven Collar Polo: A more retro cut, the shorter sleeves and the contrasting chambray collar give it a good kick.
Fred Perry Twin Tipped Polo: Look great on or off the court.  These have a great fit – not too wide, not to slim.  Just right.
Lacoste Classic Pique Polo: About as classic as it gets – always own a white Lacoste.  These run wide as well, and a little short,  Size accordingly.
Patagonia Polo: Soft fabric and bold colors – and tough as nails.  Don’t be afraid to wear this one out.

What are your thoughts on the logo-less polo?

Brooks Brothers is my brand of choice after the Polo mesh shirt got crazy-expensive.

When the temp climbs into the triple digits here in NC, my cotton loyalty goes out the window and I choose a moisture-wicking poly blend. They’re the best way to battle the heat, and there are some classic designs out there that don’t look so pro-shopish. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
