    You forgot Drivin N Cryin, Widepsread Panic, and Drive By Truckers (all of which are better than the Crowes).

    I'm a Midwesterner, but you'll get no argument from me. Southern rock is some of the best around! I listened to a lot of this while growing up in the early 1980s. I also would mention the Outlaws and early Charlie Daniels Band as worth checking out if you enjoy classic Southern rock like Marshall Tucker Band.

    The Crowes are better than DNC, and Drive By. I like all of them but the Crowes are definitely the best of that group. You can't really compare them to Widespread because they are so different but they're all great southern bands

    love this post! it makes me think of the many frat parties i've been to over the years that have played this music and had cover bands!
