I’ve been a fan of Penfield for quite some time. I pulled the trigger on their Outback vest at the end of last year, and it has been one of my favorite purchases. While it’s a shame I don’t live in a more down vest-friendly climate, I don’t have long before it’ll start to get some play. Penfield has a nack for a muted outdoor style that doesn’t rely on gimmicks or over-technical fabrics. The 60/40 fabric is about as good as it gets.
