Oak Street Bootmakers Bit Mocs

There is the footwear world where there are shoes for just about every scenario.  For the majority of readers, we all have quite a collection (probably too many), so identifying gaps is an issue that we welcome.  One question that I get quite a bit from readers goes something like this: “looking for casual leather shoes that aren’t drivers”.  My suggestion us usually Camp Mocs, as I’m a huge fan.  While Camp Mocs are a must have for every closet, they aren’t dressy.  At all.  They are campy.  That’s where they live.

Oak Street Bootmakers‘ most recent release fills that gap.  Their new Bit Mocs are a dressy version of their Camp Mocs, but more sturdy than drivers.  These have a more traditional look with the beef rolls and the bit, and the finished seams around the vamp.  These are everything you’ve come to expect from Oak Street Bootmakers: hand made in Maine with the finest materials, recraftable and backed by their factory guarantee.

Available here in both Natural Chromexcel and Peanut Suede:

Love them – just wish the sole would have different options. I personally would like Ivory/Navy/Red options. Make it more of a summer shoe for my taste and style preference.

These are definitely cool, I especially like the suede option.

Like many other readers, I have Oak Street’s traditional bit loafer (the less expensive, and better option to the Gucci bit). And I love them! These are super cool in that they’d be more comfortable than their grown up brother, for all day wear, with that rubber camp sole. Really really cool. I can’t recommend Oak Street enough.

Call me a traditionalist, old man, etc., but I can’t do a rubber sole. Leather is pain in bad weather, but it’s a must. Either way, handsome shoes.
