Look What I Found… (Things You Forgot You Had)

When digging through my closet, I saw a USPS box that had slipped my mind… I opened it and remembered this Norman Hilton suit that I purchased from Ebay a while back:

I’ve had my eye on the Navy blue Fitzgerald suit from Brooks Brothers for a while. That suit is very nice – probably one of the best values for the money. The reason I like it is because of the cut – off the rack, the jacket fits me like a glove. Slim but not tight, softer shoulders, flat front trousers…it really works.
This suit had relatively the same measurements (the jacket), and the price I paid made it VERY worth my while. The condition of this suit is outstanding. I can verify that Norman Hilton’s quality is tough to match.

Yes, it is darted. Not the end of the world. The only thing the jacket needs is to be sent to the cleaners.

The pants are about an inch and a half to big, which will be an easy fix. The best part is that they are flat front and silk lined.

I’d like to break this out in early November for a wedding, so I’ve got to get it to the tailors this week.
I’m debating on the hem – plain or cuffed? What say you?

2" cuff. No break. For life.

cuff 'em, but if the legs aren't on the slim side don't go 2", more like 1 5/8" with slight break.

    I say cuffs too.

It's always nice to find something in your closet that you had forgotten about.

Cuff 'em…unless you wear them with cowboy boots.

Oh dear, I hope I'm not too late! Why cuff a plain-fronted trouser? It only serves a purpose with pleats, no? Chacun a son gout, and all that, but thought I'd offer a purist interjection.
Love your blog, by the way. Been following for a while and find it greatly informative. Hope to see you sometime over at beingmanly.blogspot.com
