Loake Kempton Snuff Suede Chukka Boots

I’ve been on the hunt for a pair of suede chukka boots for some time.  I have had my eye on the Alden unlined chukkas for some time, but wanted something with a rubber sole.  Enter these Kempton boots from Loake.  Without seeing them hands-on prior to purchasing, they met all of my criteria: chukka boots, narrow toe box, and rubber (Dianite) sole.  What put them over the top was the fact that they had my size in snuff suede…and you all know my obsession with snuff suede.  Done and done.  They showed up on my doorstep from England about nine days after ordering, and have been immediately added to the rotation.

The best part about these boots is their versatility.  They look outstanding with jeans, but they also work with khaki, navy, and medium gray trousers.  I really couldn’t be happier for the price.

Looking good Jay. The bottoms remind me of my G.H. Bass loafers. I thought the pseudo cleat look would be uncomfortable when I first got them, but I never even noticed. Keep us posted on how they hold up.

Jay – how’s the width? I have been on the hunt for the same but have a tough shoe size (12.5c) so usually end up with either a 13B or 12D. Based on the loake website these look they run wide. your thoughts?

Hey Jason – Remember that these are Euro sizing, so my 8.5F translates to about a 9.5D. I would say that I am happy with the width – it’s wide enough but has a narrower look (rather than a ‘Ronald McDonald’ toebox).

They look great! Do you have narrow/normal/wide feets yourself? Compared to another manufacturers like for ex. C&J, Trickers, Carmina, Enzo Bonafé, Cheaney, AE how would you rank the suedes quality? Also, I didn´t find Kemptons in snuff suede as a colour option anywhere on this model (not even on Loakes own hp) but I guess it´s the brown suede you mean? (A brown suede that sure looks a lot like snuff to me to) Below you´ll find a link to something I think you just might like.
