Fall Weekend with Man Outfitters

Here in the South, Fall is when the weather cools off, but it isn’t cold.  I can’t remember the last time we had any snow or ice before Christmas.  The highs are in the 50s or 60s, and the nights are much lower.  When thinking about dominating a weekend, it’s all about functionality.  Weekend wear should all be interchangeable, and meet 90% of need.

Weekend wear should cover the following: Brunch.  Home Depot.  Cleaning out the garage.  Watching football.  Going to a concert.  Grocery store.  Drinking at a dive bar.  Going to see your parents.  Grilling out.  Helping a friend move.  Napping.

We worked with the good folks at Man Outfitters to pick the pieces that all work together…just mix and match and you are ready to kick that weekend’s ass:

From top left:

1. Shotgun Rope Hat from Smathers & Branson:  Sleeping in?  Don’t have a second to take a shower before heading out?  Grab a hat and cover up.
2. Gant Plaid Oxford Shirt:  A well-fitting plaid shirt is what it’s all about.  It’ll work great under #8 when grilling/moving/Home Depot-ing, or give it an iron and pair it with #10 for a date.
3. ‘Evolution of Old Glory’ Long Sleeve T-shirt from State Traditions:  A quick hitter…long sleeve t-shirts are about as clutch as it gets.  The prescribed shirt a choice for stealing a nap during the excruciatingly boring Big 10 game.
4. Mile Marker Jacket from Filson:  The good folks at Filson have really upped their game over the last year, introducing a bunch of new products.  The Mile Marker jacket is their take on the traditional Barn Coat, but with their waxed cotton and deep pockets.  Very utilitarian.
5. Aviator Sunglasses from Randolph Engineering:  Even though the days are shorter, the sun is still bright.  Pack accordingly.
6. Jack Mason Racing 3-Hand Watch:  A great watch option that works in any situation.
7. Southern Sportsman Belt from Smathers & Branson:  Add a little waist flare to an ordinary outfit.
8. Patagonia Nano Puff Vest:  While in action, it’s just a vest, but the look is so cool.  Not to mention the color…how nice is ‘Ash Tan’?  Super cool.
9. Levi’s 501 Jeans:  The common denominator.
10. Patagonia 5-Pocket Chinos:  Canvas chinos that don’t necessarily require ironing.  Wash them in cold and hang dry, and you are good to go.
11. Trask Penny Loafers:  The everything loafers that work with any option.  They dress up an outfit and are easily polished (after a rough night at the bar).  Take care of them and they take care of you.
12. Desert Boots from Clark’s:  Channel your inner-Bourdain with these bad boys.  The dirtier they get, the better they look.
