Innovation comes in strange ways. My man Read Wall just started Diplomat Outfitters with the intent of bringing the made-to-measure experience to the masses. It’s a really interesting process:
1. Browse the Diplomat Outfitters website and find a few things you like. Today they offer suits, sport coats, and tuxedos, but there is A LOT more on the way.
2. You’ll speak directly with someone from Diplomat Outfitters who will help guide you through the measuring process – either by walking you through measuring, or getting measurements off a garment that fits just the way you like. All of this is done over the phone, and is entered into their fit algorithm.
3. Your pieces are delivered in 3-4 weeks. No more waiting months and months for pieces that are out of season or that you forgot about…it arrives in less than a month. Once they have your measurements, you are good to go for future orders.
And what’s even better? Use code REDCLAYSOUL20 for 20% off your first order. Yep.
Some of my favorite examples of what’s available: The blue/blue Poppytooth suit ($1055 – 20% = $844) – a great play on the traditional Navy blue suit with a little added depth.
The Burgundy Check Sport Coat ($685 – 20% = $548) – A great wool/cotton blend that will work as a four-season jacket here in the South, in a really cool color. Dark jeans in the Fall, Grey wool trousers in the Winter, Light grey trousers in the Spring, and cream jeans in the Summer. Boom:
The Shawl Collar Black Tuxedo ($1065 – 20% = $852) – This is where you can REALLY take advantage. Every man should own a traditional tuxedo – with the grosgrain piping, a traditional shawl collar (not the narrow, modern cut), and a one-button closure. For right at a grand, you can have a made-to-measure tux that will look 1000 times better than a rental, and exponentially better than something OTR.
Give Diplomat Outfitters a look, folks. You’ll be glad that you did. Made to measure is a treat, and it’ll pay dividends in the confidence arena. It’s also great incentive to stay the size you are measured…that’s my type of health plan incentive!
