I had the pleasure of my first duck hunt in mid-December. I committed to go on the duck hunt roughly three weeks before. Having never been on a duck hunt, I was really excited to get out there and see what all this water fowling is about…and I’m really glad I did.
This duck hunt is an annual trip hosted by a bunch of guys that I went to college with, but haven’t seen for years. A good friend of mine got the invite, and invited me. The hunt was a three-day ordeal with Semo Outfitters in Advance, Missouri. The property has a well appointed lodge, and is covered with flooded corn, and a TON of ducks. Shane runs a great outfit: the facilities and the hunting are outstanding. We limited out on mallards every day. I will be back.
I’m working on a ‘lessons learned’ post, but for now, here is the trip in pictures:
Much more to come…
