Footjoys – In need of a retread

These are my Footjoy Classic Dry Premier golf shoes. As you can see, the rubber on the bottom of left shoe has deteriorated like an old tire left in the sun. It doesn’t look like it should be paired with the right shoe.
I spoke to customer service at Footjoy, and they directed me to ship them to their repair shop and they would give them a look. If they determined that there was any sort of defect, they would repair it free of charge. They were UPS’ed yesterday – I’ll let you know how it goes…

Do you always ride when you play? I'll bet you a dollar it's from the left shoe rubbing against the metal ridge of the cart as you let your left foot hang halfway off the cart. Still, shouldn't have happened. FJ customer service is great, you shouldn't have a problem there, although they might try to give you a new pair of Icons instead of fixing them.

Anon – I do ride, and that could be the reason. Update (I'll post on this when they arrive), is that FJ is resoling the shoe at no cost. I spoke to them last week, and they said it was a 100% defect. It'll be on my doorstep during the first week of July.
