In a follow up to the ‘Footjoys – In need of a retread‘ post, here are the results.
Refurbished Footjoys – Follow UpI couldn’t be more pleased – Footjoy recognized that the warranty did apply to these shoes, and completed the work at a $0 cost.
The shoes were totally rebuilt. What happened during the process what that Footjoy called and said they couldn’t find the rubber/leather combination sole, as they aren’t produced anymore. They asked if it was OK if they replaced it with a full leather sole – fine by me. It also meant that they would rebuild the waterproofing as well.
Here is a reminder of what they looked like prior to heading North for the re-tread:
And here is what showed up at my door:
New box complete with shoe bags
First impression = excellent
New full leather soles, new spikes, and new laces
Shined up
Close up
Overall, the experience was excellent. Footjoy exceeded my expectations – they were very polite, kept me informed during the entire process, and got the shoes back to me exactly when they said they would. I can’t wait to take these out for a round…

Lookin' sharp, I was supposed to play today, but it's raining and humid. July 10, 2010 - 10:17 PM
Great looking refurbishment. Good luck out there, and play like a champ. July 13, 2010 - 1:39 AM
Well done. They did a fantastic job. Footjoy, I understand, used to offer a line of tassel loafers similar to Alden, that, in recent years, they appear to have discontinued. February 22, 2012 - 12:15 AM
This is great to know. These look great. I’ve got a couple pairs of classics that my father gave to me and have been looking to resole them. thanks for this! |
