How to Make ‘Go To H(eck)’ Pants Work

We are all familiar with ‘Go To Hell’ pants – they were highlighted in the OPH, and have been a staple ever since.  Now, GTH(ell) pants are fun, and have their place, but there hasn’t been much mention of what I like to call the ‘Go To Heck’ pants.  Also known as diet-GTH pants, these […]

Great stuff, but can we dispense with the term “outfit”? Jason Isbell has taught us better than that.

WLS - January 31, 2012 - 11:10 AM

Takes a good man to be able to carry the GTH pant look ~ we love them!! Wm Lamb & Son will be providing some great GTH pants soon!!

jasonk - January 31, 2012 - 11:59 AM

Thanks, good post. Question – how did they fit? on the website they look a bit baggy.

C - January 31, 2012 - 2:06 PM

What bean boots are those?

Sangsouvanh Khounvichit - January 31, 2012 - 3:07 PM

This is great. I like the option on footwear for the bottom photo.

Allie - January 31, 2012 - 7:58 PM

I absolutely love brightly colored pants like these!

Paul oler - January 31, 2012 - 8:02 PM

“Bean it out!” – that’s a good one. Yep, miss the loungers – never got why they ended those.

Todd - January 31, 2012 - 10:17 PM

Not seeing the “Deepest Green” (which I like) on the Signature page. I see “Ore”, “Dark Russet” (which you profiled), “Dark Khaki”, “Tidal Marsh” and “Vintage Olive.” No “Deepest Green.”

I prefer bocce over golf. It’s not quite as stylish though.

Love this post, but I scratched my head a little when I saw Brandt Snedeker. If it’s about the visor, check out Fred:

For a style maverick who’s a little more contemporary than Arnie, Jack and the crew, it doesn’t get any better than this (at least for me):

Glad to see Brandt pick up his 3rd win yesterday. Hope he can contend in some of the majors this year.

James - January 30, 2012 - 2:10 PM

I was at Augusta National once for a practice day and the par 3 tournament once. I watched Arnold Palmer, Jack Nickalaus, and Gary Player all walk down the fairway together coming into Amen Corner. Truly an amazing sight.

Great work on the re-design, Paul.  Keep up the great work at Dreams of Perfection:

Tailor4Less – The Result

Remember I mentioned that Tailor4Less offered me a shirt?  well – here it is: The shirt did arrive within two weeks of ordering – which was great, considering it came from England.  The material is good – I would put it on par with J.Crew or Scott Barber.  The overall construction of the shirt is […]

Which collar is that?

anonymous - January 27, 2012 - 2:20 AM

Based on your resounding endorsement I would never know the shirt was free. Be honest with your readers rather than pandering to the companies that give you free clothes. Your credibility was not easily won, but may be easily lost.

JRS - January 27, 2012 - 5:42 AM

@PCS – that is the cut away collar.

Jack - January 31, 2012 - 5:57 AM

I love the shirt! I enjoy reading reviews from companies as we can learn from your experience trying them out!

Keep reviews coming!

Caroline @ Back Down South - February 1, 2012 - 10:07 AM

Great looking shirt! Need to remember this site.

mauro - September 29, 2014 - 8:58 AM

I submit to you attention the Italian web site http://www.piacemolto.com , specialized in tailored shirts, hand-made cufflink, Italian silk pocket squares.

Red Clay Soul Winter Looks

Here in the South, it gets cold, but not the bone-chilling, disgusting cold that they experience in higher latitudes.  Manage the cold…  Here’s how we do it: L-R Starting at Top Left: 1. Cabela’s 100% Ragg Wool Leather Palm Gloves: Golf course rules – never own gloves that are too big/fancy to put in your pocket. Love that date night outfit.

Rhon - January 24, 2012 - 7:01 PM

If only I could afford $275 wool trousers. Nice though.

Nick G - January 24, 2012 - 9:22 PM

Enjoyed the weekend look – definitely more of the southern style I go for in the winter

JThom - January 25, 2012 - 3:09 AM

I tell you, man — you put together some serious OC. Thanks for keeping this place running and interesting.

Got the Blues

(Clockwise from top left): 1. Quoddy Navy Chromexcel Mocs:  These just look comfortable. 2. Martin Dingman Osage: Only a couple sizes left, but one of them is mine…  I’ve been looking for something like these for a long time. 3.  Alden for Leathersoul Chesnut x Navy Saddle:  Leathersoul rarely does anything wrong.  These are not […]

The saddle’s are my favorite from all of these – but I’m lusting after all of them for Mark’s side of the closet.

ron payne - January 23, 2012 - 10:21 AM

Agree. Love them all, and both pairs of saddle oxfords are knockouts.

Jerry Grasso - January 23, 2012 - 10:38 AM

I go back and forth, but once you hit your forties, you should probably step back from the blue shoes for work, however to pull them off on the weekends (boat shoes, etc..) probably okay.

I guess it shows my age, doesn’t it, with a comment like that above?

Ken - January 23, 2012 - 11:33 AM

The Alden x Unionmade Donahues are impressive. Loving this roundup.

Panhandle Prep - January 23, 2012 - 11:42 AM

I love the Oakstreet Loafers. Tough choice between the Navy and Natural. Great stuff!

John Wade Ginn - January 23, 2012 - 4:42 PM
Ryan - January 23, 2012 - 8:00 PM

I am 100% in love with the Navy Oak Street Beefroll loafers. Another great option in Navy is the Derby Classic from Walk-Over.

Porchlight - January 27, 2012 - 7:46 PM

Lovely choices. Nordstrom’s in-house brand “1901″ had some fantastic two tone oxfords that came in really attractive colors and styles too.
