Concur. I’d also love to have the Porsche from “The Big Chill.”

James - August 31, 2011 - 8:58 AM

My favorite Porsche ever made was the 1974 Carrera.

Clay - August 31, 2011 - 10:08 AM

Drooling again on the keyboard……sometimes I prefer the non-whale tail look (like on a Targa), but on a wide body coupe, it is necessary. The Green one looks like it might have been at Road Atlanta – I knew a guy in Birmingham that had a green Turbo like that one.

Nicholas - September 4, 2011 - 11:45 AM

Classic,Classic,Classic! I think the 911 has the most classic lines of any car…maybe an early Jag is close.

B. L. Davis - September 4, 2011 - 4:12 PM

Agree that the 930’s are to lust after!

A Worthy Investment: Smart Turnout

Always on the lookout for new watch straps, it’s impossible not to include Smart Turnout – the London-based company that specializes in adding that extra punch to any outfit.  Mainly an accessory company, they do offer classic staples such as blazers, sweaters, trousers, and polos.  Their sweet spot is their accessory catalog.  A recent haul: […]

I like their socks, are they over the calf?

Glenn - August 29, 2011 - 9:26 AM

Nice choices like the RAF watch band!

Sir - August 29, 2011 - 11:28 AM

I think their watchbands run 18mm which is too narrow for almost all my watches and I can’t stand to have springbar showing. Wish they offered them different widths,

SolePorn - August 30, 2011 - 9:17 AM

Great stuff! Love their socks!

Conor - August 31, 2011 - 10:56 AM

Good haul, but why’d you have to go with garnet and gold? Awful colors. Well, bad associations at least.

JRS - September 8, 2011 - 5:49 AM

@Toad – no, they aren’t OTC.

@Sir – They have 20mm watchstraps – Household Division, Nato, RAF, Royal Navy, Royal Tank Regiment and Yale.

Charles - January 9, 2013 - 8:05 PM

What happens when we meet someone who’s put their life on the line to earn the right to wear these colours and they see us wearing them too?
I hope I’d feel suitably embarrassed.
There must be something wrong about Smart Turnout knowingly selling accessories to people who they know have no right to wear them. Keep well away.

RCS – Frank Muytjens Inspired

Up second in the RCS Inspired Series: Frank Muytjens – the Creative Director at J. Crew.  My first introduction to Mr. Muytjens was from a post at A Continuous Lean in ’09.  My first thought: Cool.  He had the ‘Jacket/tie/Jeans/Longwing look perfected.  This look (usually without the tie) is pretty much what I live in […]

Maybe you should put this outfit on for my camera…
:)

That sounded creepier than it is, and you know that.

Glenn - August 23, 2011 - 9:39 AM

Nice selection! Just don’t spill to much beer on those GTH pants:-)

Love those bits – they’re the flex-welts, right?

JC - August 24, 2011 - 7:28 AM

Pants need to be garnet, and 86 the belt. Other than that – looks good. Go Cocks!

East of Oxford - August 24, 2011 - 2:03 PM

Solid picks, I’m hoping to make it to the Ole Miss v. UGA game this fall, maybe I’ll see you in the Grove?

JRS - August 27, 2011 - 7:45 AM

@Caroline – Soon..I promise.

@Cooper – you know it…

@East of Oxford – Can’t make it out to Oxford for this one, but I’ll be there in spirit, my friend.

GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!

Eric - October 18, 2011 - 9:51 AM

Any suggestions for us Yankees for when it gets cold? Tailgating in East Lansing, Michigan will be frigid pretty soon, and any official merchandise out there is all Nike sport-y. Any tips on repping your school with class when it gets cold?

RCS Likes: Brooks Brothers Collegiate Collection

Brooks Brothers recently released the Collegiate Collection – selected items (polos, OCBDs, sweaters and ties) from fifteen different schools.  I can get behind this – but we need more schools.  Think SEC and ACC – where Gameday is a holiday.  The best part about these – small logos.  There is nothing worse than the ‘gas-station’ […]

ACL - August 19, 2011 - 8:59 AM

No sleeveless tee shirt for the UGA collection? ha

ACL - August 19, 2011 - 9:00 AM

Oh wait, no UGA collection period. Noted.

Caroline Fontenot - August 19, 2011 - 9:41 AM

The real question is why ANYTHING for Ohio State? Boo. Definitely need to finish the SEC but they can leave out Florida. Unless, of course, Brooks Brothers is interested mass producing jorts.

Sir - August 19, 2011 - 11:50 AM

One more indicator of bad judgment by Brooks – they should leave this stuff to the college bookstores. What next? NASCAR wear?

tarheelborntarheelbred - August 19, 2011 - 3:40 PM

Georgetown-branded boxing gloves and grappling helmets.

Ask - August 19, 2011 - 5:13 PM

I don’t know how this will play out but the decision to enter this market is interesting. While schools already have a lot of clothing available, it would seem that there is space for a retailer with a reputation like Brooks Bros. I went to University of Tennessee and the options weren’t all that great. We had Volunteer Traditions but even they had limited designs and apparel. I think Brooks Bros could successfully offer this type of product even at stadium and University bookstores (thinking ties and things that don’t require special sizes) and be successful at providing cool new designs where they did not previously exist.

MRS - August 24, 2011 - 11:12 PM

Love the concept, but the execution needs some work.

Ryan - August 26, 2011 - 4:07 PM

Ordered the Auburn polo, arrived two days ago. Nice shirt. Button downs look okay but I don’t like that they are only offering non-irons. Merino sweaters are nice, ties are awful.
When they announced this line the plan was to offer the apparel through campus stores. Wonder what happened to that plan?

The Jeep Grand Wagoneer – Better Than New

I like things that are restored.  Good craftsmanship will last – as long as it is taken care of.  If not, restoration is a perfect option.  Here at Red Clay Soul, we’ve featured quite a few restored items – trucks, jackets, etc. I recently came across GrandWagoneer.com – this restoration takes it to a whole […]

ANCHORED STYLE - August 18, 2011 - 8:01 AM

One of these beauties would make a perfect Anchored Style tour vehicle. On Wish List!

Christine - August 18, 2011 - 8:23 AM

Oh man, I’m going to spend hours looking at these. We had a maroon one growing up. Have always wanted another one.

SolePorn - August 18, 2011 - 8:48 AM

One of my favorite vehicles of all time…especially in white. Beautiful.

Alice Richardson - August 18, 2011 - 1:05 PM

I used to have a navy one in mint condition and I loooved it! So happy to hear the option still exists to buy the perf beach vehicle. I’ll have to tweak my Gin Lane fantasy to include a Woody now…XXOO

Ron A. - August 18, 2011 - 4:14 PM

These are beautiful. Any idea how much they go for, generally (I am assuming a lot, given the work that goes into the restoration process)?

Rodknee - August 18, 2011 - 7:26 PM

Nice loot. Love the tour visor and belt.

Nice loot. That UGA shirt is solid. Next time you’re going to need to grab me one.

Mark McCoy - August 16, 2011 - 10:54 AM

Love the belt! That is a great suggestion to pick up a belt at a course instead of shirt.

chris - August 16, 2011 - 11:07 AM

I got to go to Saturday’s round and it was a lot of fun. I wanted a visor like the one you got but they were sold out but that is expected with a visor that looks like that.

Bobby - August 16, 2011 - 9:46 PM

Had a great time on Saturday out there! Bought a AAC cap with garnet trim so I can wear it on FSU gamedays this year!
